Sometimes the things geeks/nerds do cannot be explained logically. I’m a big fan of Star Wars and I know some other geeks that are big Star Wars fans on their own. As you know the Star Wars Episode III – DVD came out some time ago and therefore we (three friends and me) planned to do the unbelievable: Watching all six Star Wars Movies. One stroke. Without pause.
And so we met last Thursday at 19.00 (cet) and started watching Episode I. Really, I think this first episode is the only episode that could be left out of the six. The story is not that important, you get the story of Anakin from the last two. But, well, for the sake of completeness we watched it. And had a pizza. With the second episode we started to discuss trivia and exchanged our viewpoints of certain aspects of the films. You know, cursing on Hayden Christensen, looking for continuity errors, stuff like that. And then suddenly (after another 11 hours) the sun just started to rise when Hayden, Yoda and Sir Alec Guinness appeared on the screen and Luke and Leia met Han in the woods…
Really, I loved watching all the movies and I realised that at least Episode II and III fit very well into my personal Star Wars universe. We’ve been thinking about watching Star Trek I-X next time. Live long and may the force be with us all…
