Hi!
Sometimes I’m really excited of some new software or some familiar software doing innovative stuff. There has been an article on Spiegel Online that presented the following: A browser (based on the Mozilla Gecko Engine) that is actually projecting the websites onto a 3D environment. It is actually a project of the people at Linden Lab who also created the fascinating project called “Second Life“. That’s a interactive 3D World where you can take part in a great variety of activities. You can create 3D objects and bring them to life using a built-in script language. However I tried it once and it’s really interesting because it’s free to use and to test it but it cost money if you decide to get a piece of virtual land inside the second world! You can do anything you want with your land: Build a house for yourself or build a club for all the people. You can even open a store to sell virtual items YOU create. Or you become the founder of an exclusive club.
However the browser is meant to be included in the software and I can imagine quite a lot of stuff one could do with this feature (because creating websites is rather easy, isn’t it *g*).
But before this is done you can test it and project you favourite websites onto a ball, a moving flag or simply a plane in 3D. Give it a try!
